Dec. 8th, Buddha enlightenment day! Dialogue on the super popular YouTube channel Yonin Koike’s Essays

Yonin Koike, the deputy chief priest of Kobe Suma Temple, is known as a monk YouTuber who broadcasts sermons on YouTube videos.
He believes that actual Buddhism is a teaching for the living and should be passed on to younger generations and attract attention, and he is constantly disseminating new initiatives.

Before the two had a conversation, the program began solemnly with Yonin facing the work “Buddha’s Universe Pilgrimage” and reciting sutra.

Last year when Shiozawa brought the work “Buddha Enlightenment” to Mahabodhi Temple as a sample of his work, The Mahabodhi Temple executives asked him to leave it there because they wanted to display it in the reception room, and also asked him to draw another one. The episodes were interesting to listen to.
And then, the conversation between the two eventually led to the question of what kind of person was the human Buddha?
Their discussion pertaining to this questions was very interesting and they tended to agree on many things.

Through the approximately 30-minute conversation between the two, viewers are led to believe that Japan’s current Buddhism would not exist if the sermons depicted in this work had not begun.

The two go on to explain to viewers that the actions of the Buddha who set out on a mission to save those who were suffering, and to quell conflicts, were actions that deserve attention in this current era of war.

After airing at 8am the next morning, it was viewed over 4000 times in just one day.
