We welcomed many people to the exhibition hall from January 5th to 7th.

During Shiozawa’s three day stay at Hongyoji Temple, throngs of people came, one after the other, for a final chance at seeing the work “Buddha’s Pilgrimage” before it embarked on a pilgrimage of its own to the Mahabodhi Temple in India, where it will rest for the next thousand years!

Each and every one listened intently to the explanation of the meaning of the painting and who the Buddha was. It was a very fulfilling three days with many questions answered.

Curator Edward said, “This painting expresses all the waves of human emotion”. That was a very nice comment.

Though we didn’t receive any major organizational support for this project, we nonetheless realized that the powerful emotions evoked in each individual by these works serve as a strong collective voice for world peace.

We are deeply moved by everyone’s encouragement. Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who participated. As the painting makes its way to its resting place in India, so does our culture and sentiments of peace go with it.
