The work “Amida Triad and Phoenix”, which was commissioned by Houoo-in Temple in Itami, Osaka, was completed as scheduled at the end of November and was displayed in the main hall of the temple.

This temple is of the Jodo sect, and a beautiful Amida Buddha is enshrined in the main hall. The head priest, Mr.Terakawa, has traveled to temples in India and other parts of Asia, and many Buddha statues sent from these temples have been placed around the Amida Buddha, giving the place an atmosphere of a temple in a foreign country. Finally, the work blends into the main hall, as if embracing the people praying.  

Namu Amida Butsu…。

The ossuary will have locker-style interment space, and this work will be enlarged and printed to cover the entire surface of the lockers.

Amitabha Triad and Phoenix:

The deceased are welcomed by Bodhisattva Seishi(left) and Bodhisattva Kannon(right), who take them to Amida Tathagata in the center and guide them to the Pure land. The light of the universe shines gently from behind the Phoenix, who travels between this world and the universe.

The cosmic blue Amida Buddha, which is the most calming color of all, will watch over the believers as the symbol of Houo-in Temple.
