2026、02、26Worship at the Main Hall of Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto!

On June 7, 2026, a work dedicated simultaneously to the three Kumano shrines was completed as Japan’s first initiative toward the World Heritage Kumano Sanzan.

Following the example of Emperor Go-Shirakawa, who made 34 pilgrimages to Kumano and performed purification rites in Kyoto before departure to pray for safe travels, prayers were conducted at Kyoto’s Yasaka Shrine in Gion—a place deeply connected to Emperor Go-Shirakawa—for the safe delivery of the three paintings to be enshrined at Kumano Sanzan.

We would like to inform all visitors of the following.

Main Hall Prayer Ceremony (Reserved exclusively for specially invited attendees.)

The main hall prayer service begins at 11:00 AM. Please gather at the Tokiwa Shinden10 minutes prior.

Tokiwa Shin-den Cosmic Dragon Exhibition Room Prayer Ceremony (For General Visitors)

Following the main hall prayer ceremony (around 11:30 AM),

the three works will be displayed in the exhibition room above the Tokiwa New Hall, where another prayer ceremony will be held.

Afterwards, Shiozawa will explain the incredible mystical energy of Kumano and the unknown Kumano myths woven into these three paintings.

We look forward to your participation.
