Today, we took Daru to see the Cosmic Dragon at Yasaka Shrine and then went to the calligraphy exhibition being held in the event space on the second floor.
First of all, what really surprised us was that Shiozawa’s old friend, Mr. Matsubara, who formerly worked at the Sankei Newspaper, was at the exhibition. We were both surprised and delighted to meet by chance for the first time in decades.
Our very old friend, Matsubara, introduced us to the exhibitors, calligraphers and Mito Kanei, and we all enjoyed a very lively conversation.
One of the four calligraphers featured in this exhibition is Nomura Aun, the chief priest of Yasaka Shrine, and by chance he happened to be there at the time, so I was able to introduce him to Daru and Matsubara.
Today, including the many unexpected reunions, we strongly felt that this was not a coincidence, but a fate planned by God. Perhaps it was the work of the Cosmic Dragon sitting right behind us.
