Yasaka Ryujinkai is an organization officially recognized by Yasaka shrine. It is composed of people who offer up performing and traditional arts as prayers to the gods. Shiozawa gave a speech at the first event of the Ryujinkai.
The event began with a speech from Yasaka Shrine’s chief priest, Nomura. He stated that this year he hopes to harness the power of the transcendent gods through music and performing arts, in order to right the wrongs darkening the world around us, and to appeal for world peace.
The Ryujinkai chairman mentioned that a meteorite will hit the shrine on July 5th next year and said that they are planning a large dedication event to coincide with that.
Shiozawa argued that if everybody focuses on this as a pending disaster, they are likely to cause a metaphysical disturbance, thereby increasing the likely hood of a disastrous meteor strike. Instead, he advises, rather than panicking and preparing for doom, its better to prepare to survive and prosper, and reminded everybody that we will all die at some point regardless, so it’s better to spend the precious years of our existence focused on creating a brighter future for those that follow.
He then explained his recent works and expressed his enthusiasm for sending out a message to the world from the sacred grounds of Kumano, a World Heritage Site, as it has been decided that they will be dedicated to Kumano Hongu and Nachi Taisha in April of next year.
The lecture ended with the Ryujinkai theme song, and many people stayed behind in front of Cosmic Dragon on the first floor to listen intently to Shiozawa’s explanation before leaving.
The meeting continued with the remaining customers at the after-party.
