“Shakuson Babe” will make its debut on February 5, 2026, with a performance at the Mahabodhi Temple in India. This World Heritage Site is famous for the Bodhi Tree under which Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment. Then, on September 20, they held their first solo live performance in Japan.
It was the opening performance for the “35th Comprehensive Martial Arts Demonstration Festival,” held at the Kyoto Budō Center starting at 10:30 a.m.

This event brings together a diverse group of martial artists from various schools and disciplines to showcase their skills, interact with one another, and learn from each other. Organizations from overseas will also participate, and demonstrations of traditional martial arts, iai, aikido, and other disciplines will be presented.

It is also a purification performance intended to help focus the mind before the demonstration begins.

The sounds of the taiko drums and shamisen echoed through the auditorium, purifying the space and promoting spiritual renewal. A truly one-of-a-kind performance—one that made the audience sit up straight—was presented, perfectly suited for Shakuson Babe’s first-ever live show in Japan.

That evening, a live performance took place at a bar in Fushimi. Shakuson Babe will headline the third and final set.

Jack made his debut performing the sitar. Shiozawa skillfully alternated between the frame drum, darbuka, and other small percussion instruments, blending seamlessly with the shamisen and sitar.

Shakuson Bade creates its sound entirely through the two musicians’ improvisation.
Their performance blended Eastern, Western, and Asian influences, filling the venue with a mysterious depth and groove.

The two MCs had the audience laughing repeatedly, and Shiozawa captured everyone’s attention by speaking about the mysterious powers of the gods and Buddhas and the teachings of Shakyamuni.
