We traveled from Kyoto to Yura in Kyotango on April 30, and on the afternoon of May 1, Shiozawa began work on the sliding doors for the Kito family’s tea room in Yura. While this place is famous for the tragic story of Anju and Zushio, the Yura Coast is serene and radiant, with not a trace of that tragedy in sight.

The creation of these sliding door paintings is not simply painting; it is Shiozawa’s unique artistic endeavor to depict the poetry of William Blake.
Well, stay tuned to see what kind of tea room it will be!

On the first and second days, we stayed at Matsukaze, a hot spring inn just a few minutes’ walk away. It was excellent value for money!
