Amidst the intense heat, three individuals with mysterious energy came to visit the studio from far away. Shiozawa was working on a piece called “Buddha’s Enlightenment Forest” to be dedicated to the Mahabodhi Temple in India and was at the stage of painting the central figure of Buddha. I feel that the people who gather at this time have the power to attract the universe.
Mr. Kotani (nicknamed Tanuki-san), who owns Atelier Tanuki Q Workshop, is a storyteller of the origins of the universe and possesses the ability to see various things beyond the human world. He can emit mysterious powers from his fingertips and even cure stiff shoulders and back pain.
Junko Okunaka, who came from Amagasaki, and Kazumi Imai, who lives in Wakayama Prefecture, are also aiming to live more enjoyable lives by naturally accepting phenomena that cannot be explained by current science.
Perhaps the reason we feel an intimate affinity with these three people is because humans do not live solely in three dimensions; we are influenced by the forces of an invisible world and can share its magnitude. Art, not just Shiozawa’s works, moves back and forth between such parallel worlds.
Shiozawa’s symbolic experience in the parallel world was being attacked by a sea snake in the sea off Amami Oshima. That led him to publish a picture book called “The Princess of the Sea God.” Coincidentally, the Tanuki Team also had a mysterious experience in Amami just recently.
Today, we spent about four hours at the studio and promised to continue sharing our activities and staying connected! We named our LINE group “Princess of the Sea God.”
