Gathering at the rally in Shinjuku and Shinbashi, Tokyo!

On May 9th, we had a busy schedule for a day trip from Kyoto to Tokyo. We left Kyoto early in the morning and visited IIT Beauty Clinic, a high-end cosmetic medical facility located on the first basement floor of the Tokyo Shinjuku Hilton.

They expressed interest in displaying some of Shiozawa’s art in the treatment rooms of their facility, so we took a lot of photos of the various rooms in order to come up with a plan for them.

They also kindly consulted with us and provided useful advice and support regarding our future Buddhist painting donation projects.

At around 3pm in Shinbashi, we joined Professor Kanayama and his unique group of talented people who will be working on the comprehensive research project at his “Terakoya of Life” research salon.

Basically, the Terakoya Salon of Life will gather and disseminate research information from the following four areas:

1.Thanatology and science, 2. Shinto, Buddhism and art, 3. Ancient layers of the Japanese soul, 4. Living spaces based on medicine, food and agriculture

Professor Kanayama is one of the only Japanese researchers seriously engaged in this genre of study. His goal is to leave behind vital clues for the future of Japan’s next generation.

Shiozawa will be in charge of Shintoism, Buddhism and the arts. Focusing on Japanese spirituality in the performing arts, he will disseminate his research not only throughout Japan, but throughout the world.
