On August 29, we enjoyed performances by Inazuma Horns and Peng Peng Dong Pee together with the local community at the Kyoto live music venue “Jittoku.”

The Inazuma Horns are a large band of 11 members—men and women of all ages—hailing from Kyoto. They are an R&B band, and above all, vocalist Satoshi Koizumi is popular for his blues, soul, mambo, and comedy routines. They have a strong, loyal fan base in the Kyoto area.

Pen pen don pi is a four-piece tropical garage blues band featuring lead vocalist Jun Nagami, who is a skilled guitarist. Their performances showcase the connections between blues, Caribbean, Latin, and African music.

Founded in 1973, the long-established live music venue “Jittoku” is housed in a 300-year-old renovated sake brewery, giving it a unique atmosphere steeped in history. When you visit here, you’ll realize that Kyoto is also a hub for emerging creative talents to share their work.

Thanks to the Inazuma Horns’ huge popularity, the venue filled up in no time again today, and the cheers from the regulars made for a really fun atmosphere!

Satoshi was absolutely hilarious today—he even brought up Akihiro Miwa and Emperor Showa in his comedy routine.

It was my first live show in a while, and it completely blew away my fatigue.
