Yunosato, a natural hot spring resort located in Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture, is a facility where three unique, renowned springs flow. It’s so popular that reservations are booked up six months in advance. Thanks to Saarahat’s kindness, we were lucky enough to stay for two nights.

On the first day, we had Italian food with Ms. Masuyama, who has a natural ability to understand the physical structure of water. The photo shows the molecular structure of water that Ms. Masuyama created using cotton swabs.

We spent two days enjoying the Ginsui mist sauna, head spa, and various hot springs.

On the second day, we had the pleasure of enjoying a kaiseki meal with President Shigeoka. President Shigeoka’s stories—filled with mysterious encounters involving prophets and psychics, as well as other supernatural phenomena—were simply fascinating.

When the Shigeoka family was running a textile business, a man dressed as a Yamabushi told them that this place had been a sacred site even before Koyasan was established, so they resolved to drill for hot springs. Three types of water with distinct properties are drawn from the well: “Gold Water,” suitable for drinking; “Silver Water,” which enhances functions related to cellular apoptosis and metabolism; and “Copper Water,” which promotes both bonding and release. All three are rare waters born from the mysteries of the Earth’s formation. Traces of the old temple pillars were discovered at the site of the well where Copper Water emerged, proving that this was indeed a sacred site.

Whenever they tried to run a for-profit business, phenomena such as the water stopping or becoming murky would occur—as if the water itself were conscious. Today, they supply  “Kinsui”  free of charge to local residents.

One day, Professor Tsvenkova from Bulgaria, whose work leads to scientific proof regarding water, paid them a visit, and they began conducting joint research on water chemistry—known as “Aquaphotomics”—with Kobe University and Yunosato.

They are using a scientific approach to elucidate the molecular structure and functions of water, as well as the effects of hot spring water on living organisms and materials, and will present their research findings in Bulgaria this September.

We were given a tour of the laboratory by Yoshiko Abe, the president’s older sister.

The research institute building is a so beautiful structure shaped like a curved ship’s hull, crafted using traditional Japanese carpentry techniques. From its windows, you can see the orbits of the sun and the moon.

In Japan, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law prohibits making any further claims or explanations about any type of water, so all water is treated as the same.

However, whenever we visit Yunosato, we gain a renewed appreciation for the excellence of aquaphotomics research in demonstrating the beneficial properties of water.　We are convinced that it won’t be long before the power of water is scientifically proven as a miracle cure of the future.
