Visiting the grave of Kano Tanyu ,an Edo painter

Gratitude to the souls of painters throughout time！

江戸時代初期の狩野派の絵師狩野探幽は、狩野派随一の天才絵師です。
Tanyu, a painter in the early Edo period, is one of the most renown painting geniuses from the Kano school.

幕府御用絵師であり、江戸城にも通っていました。
He was a painter for the shogunate and also attended Edo Castle.

お墓はひょうたんの形をしており、探幽の落款印の形をあらわしています。
The grave has the same gourd shape as the stamp design of Tanyu.

探幽の墓のある本行寺にて制作機会を頂けたことにご縁を感じ感謝しています。400年の時を超え、天才絵師の魂を感じ、お花とお線香を手向け、感謝の意を伝えました。
I am very grateful for this amazing opportunity to put on a production at the main temple where the grave is located.
I paid my respects to this genius painter of over 400 years ago, and expressed my gratitude with flowers, incense sticks, and a prayer.
