「日蓮涅槃図」の制作3回目まもなく開始！

The third production of [Nichiren Nehan-zu ] will be start again soon!

東京池上本行寺において、「日蓮涅槃図」の制作は、既に8月より始まっています。
The「Nichiren Nehan-zu」is already in production as of August at Ikegami Hongyouji Temple in Tokyo.

東京本行寺様に宿泊しながら少しずつ制作を進行しており、まだ7日間程の制作期間の為、その作品は下書き段階となっています。
It’s only been about 7 days since Shiozawa started this work. Therefore, he is still in  early process of applying undercoating to the main backdrop and is progressing gradually but surely while he stays at Hongyouiji Temple.

この度の作品は特別に設計した扉付き三面屏風です。扉を閉じた状態の大きさは1メートル正方で、開くと幅は2メートルとなります。
This work is painted on a specially designed triple screen door. When the door is closing, the size is 1m square, and 2m wide if it is opening.

扉表面には、同寺院の奥書院の襖絵と同じモチーフの蓮華の花が、扉を開くと涅槃で横たわる日蓮聖人が幻想的に描かれます。
On the surface of the door, a lotus flower with the same motif as the fusuma painting in the guest room in this temple, and when the door opens, the Nichiren Saints lying in nirvana are drawn fantastically.

一般的涅槃図は、お決まりの型があります。さて塩澤はどのように型破りするでしょうか？
Generally, the Nehan-zu has a uniform pattern.  How will Shiozawa put his mark on it?

ご信者様達が法要行事の時に合掌してお祈りするもでもあります。塩澤はご信者様達を思い魂を込めて制作に取り組んでいます。10月中旬より3回目の制作期間を今回は長めにとり東京池上本行寺に滞在します。
It is also used by believers to put their hands together and pray during Buddhist memorial services. Shiozawa is putting his heart and soul into this production for such believers.
From mid October, he is planning an extended stay at Hongyoji Temple in order to get this done.
