10月23日日曜日は気持ちの良い秋晴れ。長年の友人の杉本さんが曹洞宗の住職と副住職をお連れして、本行寺で制作する塩澤を訪ねてくれました。
Sunday, October 23rd was a pleasant autumn day. Ms. Sugimoto, a long-time friend of ours, took the Soto sect chiefs and deputy priests to visit Shiozawa, who is doing some artwork at Hongyouji Temple.
ご住職の石毛泰道さんは、都議会議員を長くお勤めしたユニークな人物です.
彼は慶応義塾大学卒業後、早稲田大学院博士過程を終了、後にフランス国立ストラスプール大学で文化や宗教を学ぶ等、知識の層も厚く、ブラジル総領事やベネズエラ大使等、グローバルなネットワークを持っておられます。
The chief priest, Mr.Taido Ishige, is a unique person who has served as a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly for a long time.
After graduating from Keio University, he completed a doctoral course at Waseda University, then he studied culture and religion at the University of Straspur in France.
He has a lot of knowledge and has a network of global representatives such as the Consul General of Brazil and the Ambassador of Venezuela.

They listened intently to some philosophical ponderings from Shiozawa, and we had good talk about Buddhism.
石毛住職とその息子さんである副住職はどちらも音楽が大好きで、最後は塩澤のパーカッションに合わせ、ラップでお経を唱える事にもチャレンジ。
Mr. Ishige and his son, both love music, and at the end, they challenged themselves to rap a sutra to the rhythm of Shiozawa’s percussion.
大変楽しいひと時を過ごしました。このご縁を大切にしたいと思います。
