池上本行寺 宗祖御降誕800年記念屏風絵初公開！

東京都大田区池上　大坊本行寺にて宗祖御降誕800年記念屏風絵初公開！

2020年2月に完成してコロナ問題勃発により誰にもお披露目出来ぬまま1年と7か月本行寺様の宝物殿に保管されていた屏風絵「日蓮聖人御誕生蓮華図」初公開に踏み切りました。
こういう時だからこそ多くの方に見ていただき、心を穏やかにする機会となればと願う中野住職様のご英断によります。

The folding screen painting, which was stored in the treasure hall of the temple for 1 year and 7 months because of the pandemic and was unpublished, has finally been released for the first time！
The priest decided to release this work as a means to sooth people’s emotional unrest caused by the pandemic.

作品説明

御釈迦様の誕生の日も七本の白蓮華が咲き、誕生して直ぐに東へ七歩あゆみ天を指し「天上天下唯我独尊」と発したとされ再誕の共通性を強く感じる現象です。
バック全体に施された波のウネリは現実世界(娑婆)の荒波を表現し少し明るい右側を「太陽の海」。やや暗い左側を「月の海」として、絵の背景に銀箔色を使った大きな波のうねりは現実世界の荒波を表現し、7本白蓮華は人間の口の動きに合わせ「南無妙法蓮華経」と唱えています。2019年9月頃より着手したこの屏風絵は現在の状況を予測していたかのようです。一人でも多くの方々が荒波の中でも白蓮華のように無邪気な気持ちで「南無妙法蓮華経」を唱えてもらえればと願って制作されました。

This work is inspired by the mysterious phenomenon that occurs on Nichiren’s birthday where lotus flowers grow in clusters, and schools of red snapper swarm in the sea.

The seven lotus flowers represent the life cycle of a human being by growing from a back to lotus seeds.

The blooming of lotus flowers is likened to human lips, and from the left, it shows the state of chanting [Na Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo]　 I have designed this with florescent paint so that each flower can been seen with its corresponding sutra using black light.

The large, breathing green leaves represent the people who spread out in search of sunlight.
