「釈迦宇宙巡礼展」～釈迦をめぐるアートの旅～開催
“Buddha’s Universe Pilgrimage Exhibition”~An Art Journey to Buddha~
Held by Fumio Shiozawa, the first Japanese artist to paint a dedication at the World Heritage Todaiji Temple and Mahabodhi Temple in India, a sacred place for Buddhism.
現在の釈迦をモチーフとした作品に辿り着くまでのプロセスで制作された、現代アーティストとしての初期のアートワーク(絵画)から、近年の仏画作品まで計30点以上の作品を幅広く展示。
A wide range of more than 30 works will be on display, containing both early artworks of Shiozawa as a contemporary artist, and recent Buddhist paintings. These paintings were produced with Buddha as the main theme.
今回の展示のメイン作品となる 仏教発祥の聖地、世界遺産のインドのマハーボーディミュージアム(2024年1月に完成)にて奉納予定の新作 『釈迦宇宙巡礼』のエスキース(オリジナル原画)が世界初公開 (初展示) される予定。
The esquisse (original drawing) of the new work “Buddha’s Universe Pilgrimage” is scheduled to be dedicated at the Mahabodhi Museum (to be completed in January 2024) in India. The Mahabodhi Museum is a world heritage site, which is also the birthplace of Buddhism. The esquisse will be the main work of this exhibition and will be exhibited for the first time in the world.
会期初日、4月8日のオープニングレセプションには塩澤氏のトークイベントを予定しており、トークゲストには数々の賞を受賞したキューバドキュメンタリー映画『Cu-bop』、また現在全国で公開中の 会伝説的なロックバンド“フールズのドキュメンタリー映画『THE FOOLS 愚か者たちの歌』を監督する話題の映像作家、高橋慎一氏を迎える。
A talk event By Mr. Shiozawa will be held at the opening reception on April 8, the first day of the exhibition. The guest is Shinichi Takahashi from the award-winning Cuban documentary film “Cu-bop” and “THE FOOLS Song of fools” about the legendary rock band “Fools”, which is currently being shown nationwide.
高橋 慎一 (Shinichi Takahashi) プロフィール /
1997年より、雑誌・書籍・CD ジャケット等でフォトグラファーとして活動。 またライターとして、ジャズ、ワールドミュージック等の音楽分野から、旅行記、人物ルポまで、旺盛な執筆活動を展開している。 015年にドキュメンタリー映画「Cu-Bup」を初監督。製作、撮影と一人三役をこなし、日本・キューバ・アメリカ合衆国のスタッフ、ミュージシャンが入り乱れる本作を完成にこぎ着けた。 2015年2月には米国・ロサンゼルスで行われた国際映画祭「PAN AFRICANFILM FES」のオフィシャル・セレクション作品に選出。キューバが舞台となる自主制作映画でありながら、国交断絶中の米国・ロサンゼルスでワールドプレミア上映が行われる快挙を達成した。 2022年にアンダーグラウンドの伝説的なロックバンド“フールズ”の活動に肉薄した映画『THE FOOLS 愚か者たちの歌』を監督、現在全国で公開中。
